This is a brine recipe I use for a lot of applications. It works especially well with pork and chicken.

Ingredients

  • 2 gallons of water

  • 8 orange spice flavored tea bags

  • 1/4 cup coca cola syrup

  • 1/8 cup kosher salt

Directions

  • In a large pot warm water to about 110°F. Add tea bags, coca cola syrup, and kosher salt. Stir.
  • Turn off heat and allow tea bags to steep for 15 – 20 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags and discard. Stir brine and transfer to glass or plastic container.
  • Store brine in refrigerator at 45°F or below for up to one week.
